Voltage Drop
Use the tables on the right to determine the appropriate wire size for your DC charging and/or load circuits. To satisfy NEC & UL requirements, you must multiply your solar array short circuit current (lsc) by 1.56 and all other circuits by 1.25 before using these tables. These values listed in the body of the the tables are for the maximum one-way distance (in feet) that a circuit of a particular voltage, amperage and wire size (AWG) can handle to keep the voltage to an acceptable level (3% for 12V, 4% for 24V, 5% for 48V circuits).
